One complaint I have about my home right now is the space that I have. I do not own my current residence, and would have never purchased it on purpose. It is a great place, but too small for our needs. Until the day comes when we buy something more our size, I have to make do with what we have. That being said, I know how to save space in tiny places. If you want to find help with organizing your kitchen when you too are low on space, you can use some of the tricks that I used to get more counter space to open up without having to get rid of the things that I need the most.

When you first think about organizing your kitchen, you have to stand back and see with what space you have to work. Some kitchens are large, but just have little storage space, and some are small and there is not much room for anything else. You have to decide which you have. One of the first steps in organizing your kitchen is deciding if you have more space to add on storage items or not. If you do, that is one thing you should do right away. If you can get some stylish piece for holding your microwave or just to add drawer or cupboard space, do that first.

Once you know you have all of the cupboard space that you can fit comfortably into your space, you can then think about what you use the most. Organizing your kitchen is kind of like organizing your life. You want to have what you use the most where you can get to it easily. There are some things that you can put away even when you use it fairly often so you have more space on your counters. That is one important part of organizing your kitchen. If your counters feel cluttered, you are not going to enjoy being in that room.

Get as much off your counters as you can. If you only use your blender once in a while, organizing your kitchen means getting it out of sight and stored away. You can always get it out when you need it, but you dont have to have it sitting there taking up space if you dont use it very often. See if you can get under-the-cupboard versions of things like can openers and even coffee makers. Those clear up counter space when you are organizing your kitchen as well. They can make a huge difference.

You can also look for things on the market that are made just to help you with organizing your kitchen. There are some storage containers that fold down or store together. These can save you a lot of space. You can also find inserts for your cupboards that help you store your cookie sheets and pots and pans in a way that saves a lot of space. Think about getting rid of some of the older things that you have that you do not use much when organizing your kitchen. This can help drastically lower the amount of storage space you need.
