If you dont have bird feeders on your property, you probably know quite a few people that do. This is a common practice that allows those in the home to view the different types of birds that come along to use the feeder. There are even some that are made for hummingbirds. They do not eat seed, but rather, a sugary liquid that gives them the energy they need for their seemingly endless flight. If you live in a rural area, you may want to see even more wildlife near your home. One great way to do this is to have deer feeders near the house.

You have to pick just the right spot for your deer feeders. You have to place them close enough to your home so that you can see the deer when they come to feed, but you cant have them too close or they wont come at all. If you have a wooded area near your home, you can set the feeders about ten to twenty feet back in those woods, and that is usually a great placement. That gives you a view of the deer feeders, but enough cover that the deer feel comfortable coming that close to your home. It might take them a while, but they will come.

You also have to have the right food in your deer feeders. Though many eat grass, they can get that anywhere. Instead, you have to get things that they have a harder time finding in their natural habitat. This might include things like corn. There is a good reason why herds of deer are always spotted in cornfields that have yet to be harvested. They love it and it is not as easy to find as their other food types. You may also find bags of feed made just for deer feeders in your local farm supply store.

If you want to have deer feeders on your land, there is one thing that you have to know. If you are feeding wild deer, it is illegal for you to hunt them. This is like bait, and that means it is a huge no-no. You have to limit hunting so many yards from where you may have deer feeders on your property. This goes for everyone that may hunt on your land. Have the proper perimeters set up and make sure you clearly post the area as a no hunting area. You could get in a lot of trouble if you dont take those steps and follow those laws.
